Traveling to Europe from North America is a big vacation due
to the minimum 7 hours of travel time each way. There is a lot to see and
explore in the huge Europe continent, from medieval styled cities like Prague
and Florence to the very modern like Paris and Berlin. Another thing that makes
a great vacation is being able to cover enough cities in enough time-frame but
not overdoing it to the point that the traveler is exhausted. Timing is the key
here. It takes at least 3 days to get a real feel of any city’s culture. It is
suggested to limit oneself to just 3-4 cities for the duration of 10-12 days.
Wouldn’t it be great if you could cover the major sites of
an entire country in one visit to Europe?
Austria is a small country that can easily be covered in 10
days.
Austria’s public transit is comprised of buses, trains and trams and is easily
connected to its touristy cities. Cities to visit in Austria:
1. Vienna
Austria is a country that can be covered in a week, given
its small size. It is a beautiful country with beautiful scenery, architecture
and cafes. The first city to visit in Austria, should be its capital – Vienna.
Opera lovers love Vienna for its great opera and orchestras. The weather is
warm in August but not too warm to not be able to sit outside on one of the
sidewalk cafes for a coffee and a pastry.
P.S.: Make sure to try the Apfelstrudel – a comfort puff
pastry with sugary apple slices.
2. Salzburg
Salzburg is another cute and beautiful European city
situated at the base of the Alps. Salzburg has got a lovely historic center and
beautiful scenery. The Sound of Music fans need to visit this city asap! It is
also the birth city of Mozart, so one can only imagine the beautiful orchestras
and music that surrounds the city.
3. Hallstatt
Hallstatt would be your favorite city once you visit it.
Hallstatt is a village on the western shore of Lake Hallstatt. Hallstatt is
only about an hour away from Salzburg. The city has got a very old-medieval
kind of feel and architecture with beautiful alpine scenery in the backdrop. Hallstatt
is the perfect fairytale village in every sense.
Vienna is beautiful all year-round but summers are even more
spectacular than the winters, for the reason of wandering easily in every
Austrian city. Escape Destination Planning does all the bookings and planning
for your trip, so all you need to do is relax on your vacation.
